Mid-Week Events at St George's

With you every step of the way

A community where everyone can find a home

It’s wonderful to meet and worship together on a Sunday morning, but the impact of our faith goes far beyond our Sunday Services.

In the week, we meet up with people both from church and our community;

so do come and be part of our mid-week groups, regardless of whether you ‘do’ church or not.

Mondays, 9am-10.30am

School Run-Cuppa: Parent Talk

Vicarage

(Term Time)

Exploring the tricky art of parenting!

We have qualifications for this and that, but when it comes to parenting it can feel a little overwhelming, and sometimes quite lonely.
We’re not professionals, but want to provide some space when we can talk about the challenges that parenting can present and together support and encourage each other! At times it will just be open chat, at others, we might go for a slightly more structured approach as we listen to some ideas and discuss how they might/might not work for us.
So do come along, grab a cuppa and make some new friends along the way.

School Run-Cuppa: Open House

Vicarage

(Term Time)

The school run can be exhausting when you are trying to get children out of the house in one piece!

It’s been wonderful over the past few years to welcome people into the Vicarage for a cup and tea and chat – so on a Thurs the Vicarage will be an open house!
So rather than getting cold on the school gate, why not pop in for a chat, grab a cuppa and enjoy a catch up for a few minutes before heading out into the day?

School Run-Cuppa: Harbour

Vicarage

(Term Time)

A support group for parents of children with SEND.

Parenting can be quite a path to negotiate, even more so with children that have SEND. So, after many conversations last year, we’re going to put together an informal group where we can share experiences over a cuppa and support each other along the way.
We’re not professionals, and although we’ll invite the SENCO from Altrincham Primary School to chat now and then, it will mainly be us just listening to each other and offering lots of support and encouragement.
You don’t need to come to church on a Sunday, or have a child of a particular age – open to all. Please do spread the word.

Plan Your Visit

You can find us at St George’s Church, Church Street, Altrincham, Greater Manchester. WA14 4DB. Parking is available both in front of church, in the car park in front of the Parish Centre and (outside of school hours) also with our neighbouring school, Altrincham CE Primary School just off Townfield Road, WA14 4DS.

Special Needs?

We know it can be daunting going to a new place if you or someone you know or are responsible for, have special needs. We are committed to making our church as inclusive as possible, so please do get in touch to discuss how we might enable St George’s to be a place for you.

First time?

We know that joining a new group can be hard, especially when you’ve not been there before or don’t know anyone.

Please be assured that nearly everyone starts off in the same boat, and that we are very relaxed and go out of our way to make you feel quickly at home.

If you are feeling particuarly anxious, and would like to meet a ‘friendly face’ before going in, or perhaps have a quick phone call to check everything out, do get in touch here and we can easily arrange it.
